  4. China is discovering that when you take every possible shortcut along the way the end result is lousy. Sort of like building furniture. If you slap-dash here and fudge there and take this shortcut which is almost as good...eventually you end up with a table with three and a half legs that wobbles and collapses as soon as you lean on it. That's what China has done. The system is tofu-dreg, not just the buildings. It was built in a blind rush with no foundation and is now falling down in the first high wind. It has no deep roots, no strength. As far as official CCP media: every accusation is a confession. Pure projection.

  15. Of course it is. All of China's problems are caused by the US. China is running perfectly. That's why 13,000 high net worth Chinese fled the country. It was just too perfect and they couldn't take it. @Ken-bz7kj

  16. This is only speculation but I think in a war the Chinese military would perform at a lower level than the Russians in Ukraine. That's low indeed. I think it would be a slaughter. Of course, the CCP doesn't care about huge numbers of casualties, they never have. I suspect a large number of their weapons wouldn't work to specifications or at all (they are made in China after all). The Chinese brag about everything but it seldom comes close to expectations. I also think their troops would underperform because political training rather than combat training probably takes up a lot of their time. Under Communism loyalty counts way more than competence. In short, just as Russia proved to be a paper bear I think China will prove to be a paper dragon. Of course, even a blind pig finds a few acorns, so they would get in some lucky hits on the enemy but I think they would be just that--luck, not superior tactics, training, or weaponry. Remember that China has always patterned itself after the Soviet Union and so copied their weapons and tactics. Those have not worked very well against NATO tactics and weaponry in Ukraine.

  35. I read a news story some years ago about a small child who fell down inside a piece of concrete pipe sticking out of the ground. A policeman tried to rescue the kid but got wedged head down in the pipe for a few hours. When they pulled him out he was dead and his face was totally black. The blood vessels in your head are not designed to function properly upside down. Who says donuts don't kill?

  37. Everyone is discussing the youth unemployment rate. What about the total unemployment rate? I can't remember where I heard it, but someone was digging into the numbers and said that the OVERALL unemployment rate might be as high as 50%, about the same as the real youth rate. Anyone know anything about this?
