  1. Yes, brains is very fatty and emulsifying. It's traditionally used to tan soft buckskin etc, and these days we will often use eggs instead for nearly as nice a finished product, but much easier to source than brains (unless you are working with road kill), plus brains are risky now with mad cow disease, or the similar Chronic Wasting Disease in deer. Remember the old adage... Everyone has enough brains to tan their own hide! Lol
