@joel8340. actually due to this very issue, old tractors are going up in value, because while the new technology might be nice when it works, between emissions and inability to repair the newer stuff, a lot of guys are snapping up the older stuff and basically restarting production on parts.

@dustintacohands1107 that sounds more like hoarding, and I am jealous of his collection! Lol It's not the small ones that are in demand, except by orchards and such in some places. It's the large older ones, like the Era just before computers and emissions, so modern hydraulics and such, but simple to repair. But, if he's collecting the type that I think, they too will probably go up in value, either as working machines, or just as collectors items.

@mlo527 if you can't see the difference between a few hundred dollar phone that you can still replace the screen and battery on if you really want to, or you can grab another one from the store down the road, or even have spares, and a several hundred thousand dollar machine that your business is relying on completely, then you are missing the point. And Apple is pretty much the only one who makes repairing their phones as difficult as possible, and they recently changed their policy on that matter, so your point is kind of weak.

E L. It's relatively simple. The UK is already pretty much entirely developed, so trenching for a pipeline isn't destroying untouched wilderness or going through sacred ground. It's also much shorter distances, so no 1000 mile long scars through ancient forests. Plus, if a gas pipeline leaks, you clean up the spill by waiting for the breeze to waft it away, but when the crude pipelines like we have in the US leak, they fill streams and rivers and sensitive environments with toxic sludge. Also, yes, you guys are going to do a much better job at instalation and maintenance and inspection then we do, because it's part of your culture. Plus, you don't have 10s of thousands of miles of pipe to deal with either lol
