@chrisgriffith9252 Umm, the fire is burning up the slopes of a volcano (Mt Shasta), so I am sure that there is a lot of Lava around lol Generally a fire is named for the road or landmark that it is near, and often the incident name is assigned by whoever gets on scene first based on whatever landmark they know is close. So there is no logistics planning involved, and no master plan, it's designed for local crews to know where it is based on a familiar local name.

@DonEBrooke32 it's on the sides of a volcano (Mt Shasta) so lots of roads and business and parks and such named for Lava, and the name was picked for whatever it was burning next to when it was still a few acres in size. So probably at the end of Lava CT or something like that lol

@asc_missions3080 Mt Shasta is a volcano, so the fire is literally burning on vast Lava fields. There are lots of things around with Lava in the name as a result, though none of the Lava is currently molten.
