  1. Actually, you can pass liquids through slip rings, you just have to make it hollow instead of a flat contact. Rotary joints are common on hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and any other time pressurized fluids have to go through a rotary joint. And what he said is that you can't just connect a wire to the head, which is correct. You have to have some sort of mechanism that allows rotation while passing current, and that's not a wire!
