  2. For your needs, Flatpak is great, but the problem with those distro-agnostic package formats is that they don't integrate well. There's ongoing work to make it matching to setup, but some software, like Kate, cannot have working Language Server Protocol providers when Kate is running from flatpak. Additionally, AFAIK, all KDE apps are made by community on flathub, not by KDE devs themselves. EDIT: This weird naming in flatpak is called reverse DNS :) EDIT-2: Try Shotcut, for my fiancee it runs much more stable than KDenLive ;)
