  1. If you are really interested in other views, then, as someone who lived in Russia for 15 years, I can tell you that it looks very different there. The UK has not been invaded for a thousand years, there has been very little serious violence since the civil war, over 400 years ago. Russia has been invaded by the French, and then by the Germans. They lost around 23 million citizens, every family lost someone. Russia has to defend the longest land border of any country in the world. America (by far the most important member of NATO) has no hostile neighbours and therefore no need to constantly defend its borders. NATO has tried to, and continues to try to surround Russia.

William of Orange, a relatively minor prince, by European standards, was invited to reign, as a constitutional monarch, in order to try to avoid more religious riots Britain. He came just with his personal ontourage, no invading army. He was indeed involved in Ireland, but I referred to mainland Britain.
