The household bank account analogy to the country’s economy was made by Mrs Handbag Thatcher, its just being revived by a Tory successor who happens to be chancellor of a nominal Labour government. Last July we just exchanged an incompetent and utterly dishonest Tory government for a slightly less conspicuously incompetent and slightly less obviously lying Tory government under a different colour.
