Tax where the profits are made, not where the company is registered.

Yes, and spend the tax on getting children and poor families out of obscene poverty.

@mickroper1685 Russia invaded Ukraine to block the eastward advance of NATO. Putin very clearly warned against that but the US persisted till it got the war it wanted. While Russia could indeed snap up the Baltic states, it has no desire or intention to do so. Don’t poke the Russian bear and peace will prevail.

@ There was a clear agreement between Gorbachev and the US that if Russia agreed to the reunification of Germany, NATO would not advance further East towards Russia. Bush deliberately violated this by planting missiles in Poland at a time when Russia was still recovering from the collapse of the USSR. The statement that Russia needs buffer states is clearly true, if you just glance at Russian history. It is also true that America has faced no serious threat since its independence yet it tries to control the world, including trying to surround Russia with hostility.

IF we had a leader as PM instead of a timid schoolboy, he’d politely ignore emperor Trump. If we want a DEFENCE organisation we need small fast technically advanced ships (we are an island) and submarines, and defensive missiles, NOT a huge cumbersome aircraft carrier and unusable nukes.

@ There was a similar proposal for Georgia to join NATO. In that instance it was Russia that did the provoking and the Georgians failed to negotiate (they were snared before they could react). Chechnya was a different case, it was effectively controlled by organised crime, much like some South American states. After an attack in Moscow, it had to be stopped. Western press hugely exaggerated the war and its consequences. All Russia needs is neutral buffer states, not having an ocean on its eastern and western borders and weak compliant countries north and south. Ever since 1945 (probably since 1920) the US has tried to encircle Russia with hostility.

@ So the solution is not to provoke Russia by bringing NATO right up to its sensitive border, but to support neutrality between west and east; and to encourage cross border trade, thus making war disadvantageous for both.

Time to exit NATO, out under the thumb of Uncle Sam, evict the US bases and form a United European defence force. And, crucially, talk to Putin, come to a non-aggression agreement. As I saw very clearly when I lived in Russia, they want trade agreements with Europe. They have tried since the reign of Elizabeth 1 to have friendly relations with us but all the wars with Russia have all been provoked by western interference.
