Every time you read a company proclaim “Safety is our primary concern”, you know they’re lying. For any private company, Profit is their primary concern. Safety is an inconvenient drag.

  4. Absolutely predictable result of privatisation. Any private company exists for profit; safety is a secondary inconvenience. In a nationalised company, efficiency should be almost the highest priority, surpassed only by safety. How the original purport was allocated to the wrong line In straight forward incompetence. The fact that no fault was found on the inspected line should have caused the inspector to consider other options - the other line? But of course that would have cost more and touched the private company profit.
