  1. I have travelled extensively in Russia. On all but commuter trains, a ticket guarantees you a seat. The trains are clean, comfortable, and punctual. This is achieved by providing sufficient rolling stock and sufficient regular services. My experience of Virgin trains has been that they are often late or cancelled and frequently overcrowded. Booking a seat on Virgin means you might, possibly get one.
