After world war 2,western colonialism of the poor n weak but resources rich nations did not end but was instead replaced by neo colonialism which is smarter way of how to colonise a country without been seen as a coloniser. They did this through a sponsored insurgency to replace their existing leader with a corrupt puppet who can be easily bribed to sign very favourable deals that provide huge benefits to their corporations to extract their natural resources at very favourable terms
