@eeyorehaferbock7870 No body misinterpreted it, the problem was Marx did not take human nature into account and assumed we are robots who aren't born with innate instincts.

Marx refused to work and let his wife and children starve and live in squalor, he made the maid sleep in the same bed as his family, the same maid he cheated on his wife with. He mooched off everyone he could and spent that money on making himself look rich. Engels had to browbeat him into even finishing the Communist Manifesto. He cut contact with his mother after she told him she wasn't giving him any more money and that he needed to get a job and did not attend his father's funeral. @Novusod Depends how much debt they have. Not all poor people have debt. If I paid all my bills in a month, I'd have plenty to invest.
