  1. I’ve been stuck in the ditch in the winter and I can tell you I would much rather be sitting next to a find instead of in my car that won’t start. Gets way too cold.

  2. In negative temperatures, you could freeze in a vehicle that isn’t running. If you are able to start a fire a keep warm to get you through the night, I don’t see how that is bad advice. Keep a kit in your vehicle if something like this happens.
