If you want fairness in women's sports, it seems to me the logical position would be to support puberty blockers so that trans kids don't go through the wrong puberty and obtain this dreaded biological advantage. Prepubescent boys and girls are basically the same on an athletic level. Banning all trans people from sports or forcing trans women to compete against cis men is a huge overreaction and a harmful solution. You could simply require a certain amount of time on hormone therapy to negate the majority of athletic advantage that testosterone gives someone. Honestly, the entire reason this is an "issue" is because the right has made it one. Where were the people complaining about this before 2020? Far right conservatives pick the topic based on what group they'd like to attack next. First it was public bathrooms, now it's sports.

Kids who think they may be trans can take them (after extensive consultation with a psychiatrist) to delay puberty so they can make a decision about whether or not to transition later, once their brains have developed more. Once someone stops taking puberty blockers, puberty kicks in.

A "phobia" might generally refer to a fear but homophobia and transphobia encompasses hatred and discomfort as well, it's used as an umbrella term for a range of irrational negative responses to the LGBTQ+ community. You can whinge about it "incorrect" but that won't change anything.
