We know this not because we see smartphones as complex, but because we know about the history of smartphones, cellphones, the early telephones, computers, etc. Because we know there's smartphone factories. These are demonstrable facts. Not to mention telltale signs of a human-made object like Arabic letters and numbers, plastic, metal, glass, etc. Humans, on the other hand, occur naturally. We're "made" by other humans in a sense through sexual reproduction, but there's no evidence of a human ever being designed. What the evidence does point to quite conclusively, is that human beings are a product of evolution.

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt though: Evolution is a process that does not require an "intelligent mind" because it consists of random mutation which are then filtered through natural selection. It needs no one making decisions, just as no one needs to make the decision to pool rainwater into puddles. It's just natural processes doing their thing. If you still think evolution needs an "intelligent mind" for whatever reason, I'd be interested in hearing why.

Meaning is a human concept, and as such there's no inherent or ultimate meaning, but we can all find our own meaning in life. Morality I'd say I have a better basis for than theists as rather than blindly obeying someone else's commandments I have to think about how my actions impact others. Destiny is something I don't believe in at all, and I don't miss it. You might prefer the idea of "ultimate meaning" but that doesn't mean it exists. And the non-existence of "ultimate meaning" doesn't make meaning impossible on a more personal level.

  146.  @apologetics2785  My basis for truth is the consistently reliable nature of my senses strongly suggesting that we're able to learn reliable information about the universe around us, which is what the scientific method was based on, which allowed humankind to develop the incredibly technology we have today. My basis for morality is my recognition that happiness, health, and life are generally preferable to suffering, illness, and death. And as such, it's in my best interest to take part in actions that promote the former three and reduce the latter three. Not only because committing antisocial or harmful acts could result in negative outcomes for me (legal punishment, ostracization, alienation) but also because a world with greater happiness is one that I would prefer to live in.

And then understanding how certain actions impact each other in these respects. That's what morality is. I'd argue that religious people are the ones with no justification for their morality. To go back to the wild bear example, it's probably a good idea to be afraid of a wild bear when it's standing in front of you in a forest roaring at you. But when you're sitting at home in a place that isn't their habitat, it's not really something you need to worry about. Until you start seeing bear tracks in your backyard, that is.

Once you have that, which the vast majority of us do, you can see which actions are good for people and which are not. I wonder though, I'm assuming you're a Christian, would you say bad things are bad because your god says they are? Or does your god say they're bad because they're bad? Either there's some kind of all-encompassing morality that your god is singularly capable of tapping into, which I would struggle to call morality then, or your god is expressing an opinion which you are following.

I agree that we should try to get as accurate an understanding of the universe as we possibly can, but I don't think we currently have enough evidence to justify arriving at the position that a god exists. And I don't see the popularity of a supernatural claim as grounds to take it more seriously. Jesus allegedly claimed to be God, according to an ancient collection of texts. I could go out and find someone claiming to be God who's alive right now. I don't see any reason to take either claim seriously. There's only anything riding on the question if it's actually true. If I told you right now that your house would catch on fire in the next 7 days unless you sang "Camptown Races" to the front door for 10 minutes, you wouldn't take that seriously at all, I would assume. But if the claim was correct, your home would depend on it.
