  2. now i have to yawn. The meow actually ISN'T silent. cats can meow at a higher pitch than ppl can hear....other cats would hear it though. I think they can hear about 3 octaves higher than we can....great for catching mice with their high pitched sounds. On the other hand, we can hear one octave LOWER than cats can....so if a guy is really deep voiced, the cat leterally cannot hear a word he is saying. Good luck, Marmalade!
