  3. this may turn out to be a blessing.....ppl with monkeypox tend to be protected against smallpox. There IS smallpox in the world...the USA and Russia both have level 4 labs with test tubes full of it. If we all get monkeypox, we'll be a bit scarred, but much less susceptible to smallpox, which is a killer in populations that haven't been exposed to it. ps it's a DNA virus....they tend to NOT mutate.

  4. we had a VERY good smallpox vaccine when i was young.....anyone over 60 ish has been vaxxed for smallpox and is likely immune to monkeypox. They should just make monkeypox vaccine the same way they made smallpox vaccine in the 50's and 60's last century.

  6. in Nigeria and the Congo, monkeypox is endemic....ppl rarely die of it and it has a bit of a stigma, so they don't record it there....it just goes away. In Canada, our first monkeypox case came from a Nigerian who had just returned from W Africa.
