  1. that's why it took so long to let Ibuprofen be sold OTC. (it took over 20+ yrs. ) Researchers were afraid that ppl would take double the dose and destroy their kidneys. After 20 yrs, Drs were predicting a BIG upsurge in kidney transplants.
