  1. i paid all my student loans back in the first year after graduation....no car (lived in a room within walking distance of work, ate mac and cheese etc.) We had interest forgiveness in the first year and i wanted to save money. A bank officer later said "you did WHAT? The only thing you could have done WORSE is not paid back anything at all!!" Banks want the interest...i kind of ruined my credit rating for awhile...
