we have the same problem with the Post Office in Canada. A friend worked in the sorting station....it's union, so last hired is first fired. The guy who'd been there the longest was having a great night if he managed to sort one bag of mail. (They had to take the bags they'd sorted to the other side of the room, so everyone knew how much ppl had done. My friend sorted between 12 - 15 bags a night. Then the layoffs came, and my friend was booted, while the one bag guy was kept on...and our Post Office has NO idea why they're losing money.
