  1. we had that trouble in Toronto yrs ago (the ppl who are appointed to the Police Commission HATE the police). Almost every officer on the street were REALLY young except for a couple who were obviously about to retire. A friend clued me in...police work in TO just long enough to get a decent CV, and then they leave for smaller surrounding towns. Those towns have brilliant police forces full of grateful officers who aren't living in an outrageously expensive city...and very low crime rates. ps 600 NY police officers have already handed in retirement or quitting papers....Cuomo is getting his "defund the police " done the easy way....Wait til the smaller police force hits the no bail law.
