  1.  @singalongwrudy8690  Ah the party switch myth! Southern Democrats did not become Republicans. There is historical voting data that proves there was no party switch. Some Southern Democrats may have occasionally voted for a Republican Presidential candidate, but those same constituents voted overwhelmingly for the Democrat Party in state elections. Most southern states were democrat controlled through the 90's and 2000's.
