  1. I am a retired teacher. I often referred to my students as "my kids". Like another teacher on this comment section, it was more of a term of endearment. I spent a lot of time with my students, many of whom I got to know their family. The term "my kids" was not ment to be literal.

  2. I'm a retired teacher. I never joined the union. They say they are there to protect teachers. However, that's not what has happened. The unions are just about money, control, and politics.
