@doccarter5283 While I don't agree with the release of 5,000 prisoners, it was the Afghan government who released them a few hundred at a time over the last year and a half. The release of those prisoners also doesn't absolve Biden from the seriously botched withdrawal from Afghanistan.

@doccarter5283 You're right, we'll probably never know because we're not privy to the intelligence. However, we have a pretty good idea because of the leaked phone call between Biden and Gahni. There's also all the veterans speaking out about conditions on the ground and corruption in the Afghan government. Even though Biden blames Trump because yes that's what politicians do, this F-up is all on Biden. He should have evacuated American citizens and Afghan contractors first. Now we have American citizens and Afghan allies behind enemy lines.

@doccarter5283 I don't blame Biden for the war although when he was a Senator he did vote in favor of the war in Afghanistan. I blame him for the botched withdrawal and leaving American citizens and Afghan allies behind. Biden should have evacuated people first before he pulled troops out.

@doccarter5283 Biden pulled 2,500 troops out in the middle of the night. He left Bagram air base which could have been more easily secured than the airport. When he pulled those troops, he left NATO troops behind with no support. Biden sent almost 6,000 troops back in to Afghanistan to secure just the airport. The Biden administration negotiated with the Taliban to secure outside the airport. That was a huge mistake that cost 13 troops their lives. Troops from other allied nations were going out into Kabul to rescue their citizens, but Biden wouldn't let our Military troops do the same. He said American citizens and Afghans had to get to the airport on their own. There are multiple accounts of people trying to get through Taliban check points and the Taliban charging people money or not letting them through. The Taliban should have never been trusted and when the Biden administration found out that people couldn't get to the airport, they should have cleared the Taliban from around the airport. I agree that Trump made the mistake of negotiating with the Taliban for the Afghan government to release 5,000 prisoners. However that does not absolve Biden's multiple failures. Even our allies have lost trust in America.
