I agree 100 %. My son chose not to go to college. He works a manufacturing job that pays 26 dollars an hour. Some college grads don't make that much and are in debt. While they get their debt forgiven, what do all those who didn't go to college get?

Xavier Moore I don't mind helping someone but when 60% of people who don't go to college get nothing versus 40% who went get their debt wiped clean. Their future looks pretty good. Plus does paying for someone's college debt make some college students forever?

Xavier Moore LOL 😆 Yes, having a well educated population is a good thing. However, we need to be well rounded and diverse too. After all we can't all be life-long students, someone needs to be plumbers, electricians, working class, etc. Good luck with that utopian society that you so desperately seek without all of the murderous, white supremacists etc. that you want to eradicate from society.

@Coryameta I think you have me confused with the person who made the original comment. Learning does not stop simply because one does not go to college or a person graduates. I do have a Bachelors degree and paid my student loans just like millions of others. My son works in manufacturing and makes more money than I did (retired now) with a degree. There are good jobs out there without going 50,000 K in debt. I'm not sure what the solution is but I don't think taxpayers should foot the entire bill for a person's college education. I am not opposed to helping minorities or those individuals who are economically disadvantaged. With the amount of money that is collected by a particular college maybe some of the burden should be on them to make college more affordable.

@Coryameta I see what you're saying but I feel that if you set the price of a four year degree at 20k, then that's what the taxpayers should pay. I do agree people need to come together and discuss these issues in a civil manner. If only we could get politicians to do the same.
