@eminentbishop1325 There are other options besides college. Not everyone can be a mathematician, doctor, lawyer, ect. There are plenty of good trade jobs electricians, plumbers. Even most factory/manufacturing jobs pay over $15 an hour starting pay. My son is a great example he makes over $26 an hour, he's 25 years old. If you want to go to college that's your prerogative, but don't expect a free ride.

@RiceBiomedicine You don't think non college workers contribute to the GDP? Many non college people work in the automotive industry, that is a very large contributor to the GDP. Many of those non college people make just as much or more than someone who decided to go to college. Also there are more people now who go to college than there was 10, 15, 20 years ago. I will agree that college tuition is outrageously high. However, taxpayers shouldn't be on the hook for everyone going to college.

@RiceBiomedicine Working a Factory/ manufacturing job makes between 50-75 thousand a year. In many areas of the country that is a nice livable wage. Real estate leasing/rentals etc. Is the number 1 contributor to GDP and you don't need a college degree. There are many people who have became millionaires working real estate. A little known job of reparing or installing elevators will pay an average of 85k a year. My point is there are many great paying jobs that don't require a 4 year degree.
