@hanshansen3885 I'm not so sure that she's responding to the parents in a necessary way. If she is actually promoting those books to young children, then she deserves condemnation from those parents.

@hanshansen3885 It might not be CRT in the true sense of CRT that is taught at the college level. However, there is something being taught at some schools that shouldn't be taught. No child should be taught that they are less than and no child should be taught or made to feel better than. We are all equal on this earth. I am not against the teaching of history, (all of it) the good, the bad, and the ugly. There are far too many people that are uninformed on the subject of history.

@hanshansen3885 As a parent and a retired teacher myself, I can look at it from both sides. In my experience most school librarians are in charge of picking library books for their schools. As a teacher, I cannot imagine having or reading that book to my students. As a parent, I would not want my young child to be reading such material.

Maybe teachers aren't heroes, but there are still some good teachers who genuinely care about their students.
