 @peterjermey7235 DeSantis has not "banned" anyone from receiving black history or teaching black history. Don't believe everything you hear on TV. Do some research.

@lisal9829 Where is 5he data at that proves those teachers quit because of the "war on woke" policies? I am a former teacher. When I retired other teachers were also leaving. The #1 reasons are stress and low pay.

@peterjermey7235 The AP course is still offered in colleges, just not in public schools. Also the AP course was more than black history. There are more than 100 units in this course and the bill targets 4 or 5 units which has controversial subject matter. Black history was not removed from Florida public schools.

@peterjermey7235 No it is not ! You said black history is banned. That is incorrect. Black history is still taught in public schools. That particular AP course which is a college level course is not taught in public schools. There are other AP courses that are available.

@peterjermey7235 The state took issue with several pieces of the College Board’s syllabus, such as parts on “Black Queer Studies,” advocacy for reparations, activism and intersectionality, which is a piece critical race theory, according to state’s education department. Florida law requires public schools to teach students about the history of African Americans, including the “enslavement experience,” and steer them to develop an “understanding of the ramifications of prejudice, racism, and stereotyping on individual freedoms.”

@peterjermey7235 LOL Biden and other democrats (Beth O'Rouke) have campaigned on taking away or banning guns. That is definitely trying to take away a Constitutional right.
