@AnonYmous-wf1oz America was energy independent in 2019.

Instead of producing more oil in America, Biden is negotiating with Venezuela to replace Russian oil.

@brandonbrook9664 What idea! Do you not believe that Biden is trying to get oil from Venezuela? A simple Google search will provide factual information.

@brandonbrook9664 When did I ever say you could snap your fingers and ramp up production of oil? This has been a problem since Biden became President.

@brandonbrook9664 Politifact In 2019, as was the case in March, the U.S. produced slightly more energy than it consumed. Specifically, Americans used about 100.2 quadrillion Btu of energy and produced about 101 quadrillion Btu. Broken down by month, there were seven months in 2019 where energy production outpaced energy consumption.

Private Private You have it backwards. If you're talking about crude oil imports, in 2020 imports were 1.3%. In 2021 crude oil imports were 3.3%. Refined petroleum products from Russia in 2020 were an average of 465,000 barrels a day. In 2021 we averaged 487,000 barrels a day. In both cases there has been an increase in 2021 under the Biden administration.

@brandonbrook9664 The original comment is on energy independence. So no I'm not off topic. Your comment is on petroleum imports. You haven't provided any evidence that refutes that the US was energy independent in 2019. You're the one who is confused.
1
@brandonbrook9664 I am not just referring to oil. Energy independent refers to all forms of energy.

Private Private What do annual budgets have to do with where you get oil or petroleum products from? Other than how such items will be paid for. I am aware of the government fiscal year.

@brandonbrook9664 There are many pitfalls of bias. FOX, MSNBC, CNN, and every network has their own bias. I do a lot of independent research. I'm not getting valuable information from any network.

Private Private True, it is Trump's budget. Trump's budget is just a guide. Congress has the final say and they can make changes. However, that doesn't stop Biden from making regulatory changes to agencies. Plus Biden's Executive Orders are not connected to the budget.
