@darkeen42 There are plenty of countries with inflation rates well below ours. China, Japan, France, Canada, Saudi Arabia are all a lot lower than America.

@darkeen42 No, I don't expect they'll come back. However, the mass exodus of factory jobs started long before Trump and the tariffs on China.

@darkeen42 The tariffs are being used as leverage. Part of the negotiating process. The trade imbalance has been negatively affecting the US economy for years.

@bobbo9058 Trump did somewhat level the playing field with China. However, they haven't yet made good on their agreement to purchase more American goods. They have purchased more agricultural products than in the past, so that is an improvement. I expect that's why Biden has kept the tariffs. They are working to balance the trade deficit.

@darkeen42 The tariffs are a negotiating tool. China did sign an agreement in 2020 to buy more American goods. They have fulfilled about 60% of their agreement. That's why Biden has kept the tariffs. Maybe if you would take your own advice and do a little current research, you'd know the current inflation rate and why Biden has kept the tariffs.

@darkeen42 I am not literally "wrong" about everything! You clearly didn't know what the current inflation rate was and you didn't know that Biden kept those tariffs that are so detrimental to our economy. Just because I didn't give you a definition for a tariff doesn't mean I don't know. I guess I assumed most people know, but just to amuse you, a tariff is a tax imposed by a government on another country on the import or export of goods. Now how about you take some of your own advice and admit you clearly didn't know what our current inflation rate is.

@darkeen42 Just because that agreement for China to buy more products has expired doesn't mean that Biden lifted the tariffs. They are still in place and Biden said the tariffs will remain.

@darkeen42 I am not wrong! I said a tariff is a tax on imports or exports. I never said WHO paid the tax! You have a reading comprehension problem! I am well aware that it's the business owners and citizens who pay for the imposed tariff.
