  1.  @jimjoejohnson1671  The majority of firearms purchased are from gun stores or gun shows both of which require ID and a background check. The Constitution says that only citizens can vote. Requiring ID is a way to prove citizenship. Maybe a better form of ID would be to require a person show their birth certificate. How do you suggest a person proves their citizenship to vote?

  3.  @jimjoejohnson1671  Not sure about your state, but in my state you need a driver license or state ID to register to vote. Same as to purchase a firearm. To vote we show our voter registration card or DL. So even though voting is a Constitutional right you still have to prove you're a citizen.
