  1.  @e.458  The political parties did not do a 180 degree switch. It is true that Lyndon Johnson signed the Civil Rights Act but it would not have been passed if not for Republicans. Most Democrats voted against the bill. Robert Byrd member of the KKK filibustered to stop the Bill. This is the same Robert Byrd that Joe Biden said was a good man.
