@James-to7pi I remember going to school when most of the trucks in the parking lot had guns on the rack. However, we rarely ever heard of a school shooting. Guns aren't the problem. Our society has a mental health problem and serious cultural issues.

@James-to7pi Then that would include almost all guns. As a lot of them use 10 round magazines as standard equipment. Plus that would most surely be ruled unconstitutional. If you require a license, insurance etc. the people most impacted would be poor people. There's a lot of poor people in rural areas that use hunting rifles to provide for their families.

@James-to7pi I agree that there needs to be better checks on mentally ill individuals. However, I think we as a country can do a much better job of securing our schools. There is more armed security for members of Congress than for our schools. Why?

@James-to7pi An AR15 is a popular rifle. However, it's mainly used for sport shooting or maybe small varmints. The .223 Remington is one if the most popular hunting rifles. Average price for an AR15 is 600 to 800 dollars. The Remington .223 is about 450 to 700 dollars. A lot of poor people have rifles handed down, not saying they can't get an AR15. During the pandemic a lot of people spent their Covid money on guns. I do agree that no one should be shot because they turned around in a driveway or knocked on the wrong door. Those people should be prosecuted.

@James-to7pi Also just FYI AR doesn't stand for "assault" rifle, it's Arma-lite rifle. The term "assault" is just fear mongering.

@James-to7pi Obviously you didn't watch the Rittenhouse trial. The three people who were shot came after Rittenhouse first. The first man was mad at Rittenhouse because Rittenhouse put out the fire he started. He came at Rittenhouse with a logging chain. I suppose you would have let that man beat you with a chain. The second man chased Rittenhouse on a skateboard. When Rittenhouse was on the ground he tried to hit him with the skateboard. The third man pulled a gun on Rittenhouse. All of this was clearly seen on video footage from that night. In this country you are innocent until proven guilty. A jury found Rittenhouse innocent. I suppose you don't believe in our judicial process.

@James-to7pi There is a difference between the AR used for the military and civilian use. The military AR is full automatic. Civilian AR is semiautomatic. I will agree to disagree.
