@jasonrobbins4227 Thank you. I just hate it when someone misrepresents history to fit their own agenda. I was not born in Tennessee, but have lived (Knoxville area)here for almost 30 years. I am a retired teacher so the subject matter (history) comes almost second nature. You have provided a lot of great information in your comments. I agree whole heartedly with your last comment on this thread. Thank you!

@gankuskan5570 I can see you don't know Tennessee state history. Tennessee was republican controlled from 71-75. Democrat controlled from 67-71 and 75-79. 79-87 was republican from 87 to 2011 control flipped back and forth from democrats to republicans. Tennessee has had republican governor's since 2011. I'm guessing you're referring to Kkk leader Nathan Bedford. The states Constitution had to be amended to get rid of Bedford. No worries Governor Lee and republican legislature got rid of those laws put into place by democrats who controlled the state from 1801-1881 then from 1893-1967.

@gankuskan5570 The KKK was founded by the Democrat Party in Tennessee. Joe Biden's friend Robert Byrd was a KKK member. He held a filibuster to stop the Civil Rights Act from being passed. LBJ a democrat was racist. He only agreed to passage of the Civil Rights Act because it would be politically favorable to the democratic party. I hope you're not one of those sheep who believes the "party switch" myth.
