Ursula may have asked Russia for permission to fly her plane through Russian airspace which is a faster route, rather than fly several more hours in another route. However, Russia perhaps denied her this request. . Therefore, she had to use the Chinese airlines to go back and forth to save several hours of travel time. Since Macron was invited by Xi, Macron's plane may have gotten permission to use Russia's airspace to go to China.
