  1.  @williamhickerson4316  That's very Noble and brave, of the Ukrainian people, admirable. However, Time is the Master of men. Let's open this up and expand for perspective. Hear me out: When the foreign invaders first arrived in what was called the New World, they had one mission, called Manifest Destiny. These were brave and determined men, ready to fight the Natives for their land and resources. When the invaders arrived there were about 80 million Native Americans. The Natives fought back bravely and courageously to keep their homeland. They were fighting against a formidable enemy, with state of the art weapons for that time; with guns and cannons, explosives, germ warfare, and military discipline, men with hundreds of years of experience in the art of warfare. After many years the Natives surrendered to the invaders. They were then placed on reservations and swamp lands, and desert by their conquerors, and alcohol was sold to them, making them an impoverished and broken people. Their numbers dwindling to just 6.7 million today, almost to the point of extinction. They are the least respected people in America today, even with their awesomely rich heritage and history. There is an old saying " live to fight another day". These Natives, had they only recognized their limitations and surrendered earlier to the invaders, their numbers would have been much more today, and would have a much greater voice in America. Their stubbornness created such hatred for them in the heart of the much superior ready invaders, they were determined to wipe them off the face of the earth. In contrast, the slaves who were brought to America were fighters, but eventually settled in their fate as bondage men and women, and bided their time. Today, they make up 13% of the US population (33000000) and in 2008 a black president was elected and in 2020 a black woman is Vice President. Still their struggle continues, but their progeny moves forward and upwards. In Africa the invaders came, conquered, killing millions of Africans, even after bleeding the continent of able bodied men and women during the Arab and Atlantic slave trades. The Africans submitted and settled in their colonization and bided their time. In 1900 the population of the African continent was only 140 million. Today the population is 1.37 billion and rising, despite the overall impoverished state of many countries. Their progeny is moving forward and upwards into the future. Sometimes surrendering is noble, saving the lives of present and future generations is the brave thing to do. Fighting to the last Ukrainian is not wise, because Time is our Master.
