In 1896, Russia helped Ethiopia fight against Italy, who was assigned to colonize Ethiopia. Ethiopia won a decisive victory at the battle of Adwa and was never colonized. Russia has since helped South Africa, Mozambique, Angola, the Congo, and Mali fight for their independence from the colonists. King Leopold of Belgium used to cut off the right hand of the people of the Congo to force them to work as slaves in the rubber tree plantations in the Congo. Even today in Belgium, they sell chocolate hands, which is so shameful and disgusting.
