  1. There are conversations that are on the record and off the record as we saw with the Olaf visit to Washington. Macron took 40 businessmen on this trip. It seems that it's the business community who is now steering French economic policy. The French are slowly losing their West African cash cows, and can read the tea leaves, which shows France will no longer have an economy that can sustain its current standard of living going forward. Maybe the French wants to hitch themselves on the new thing, as they understand the world is now multipolar and has accepted this fact. Xi may have shown Macron the future, and he conveys this to his French businessmen who wants in. Those businessmen walked away with very long term lucrative deals from China. Macron will decide to save his country. He will surprise us.
