  1. I heard that Putin is responsible for the lowering of the Rhine river water levels, and barges now have to carry 50 % less of it's cargo of oil, gas, coal etc., on the Rhine river to factories.

  4. Ask Putin. He gave his men a two week rest recently. Apparently they are ahead of schedule as they are slicing through the Ukrainian defences at a rapid clip.

  5.  @Eddi.M.  I read that the local coal being mined are transported via the Rhine. This is where the information of lower water levels came from and the difficulty of transportation of coal. In addition, the article pointed out that rail and road transportation are many factors more expensive than shipping. Even Switzerland will be affected. Any way, it's an unfortunate mess for Germany.
