In addition, all countries need approval from their parliament to send their military to Niger. The president of Nigeria is saying he is under pressure as the ecowas chairperson to act quickly and send military to Niger. His parliament has rejected sending the Nigerian military, and the northern states are not going to comply as they see Niger as brothers. In Ghana, the Ashanti king, who is very powerful and influential, warned the president of Ghana against sending their military to fight a proxy war for the West. In Senegal, the people are against sending their military in Niger to fight fellow Africans. There will be severe backlash in all of these ecowas countries by the people if their governments send military intervention in Niger.
