Kiev will lose out of 1 billion dollars of transit fees from the Russian. Nordstream 2 was built to sidestep this line going through Ukraine as ukraine was always a troublesome customer. Four years ago ukraine complained that the NS2 pipelines will halt their revenue and begged russia to renew this contract untill the end of 2024. Five years ago Russia had started to build the Power of Siberia 1 gas pipelines to transit gas to China in order to replace lost revenue from Europe. Russia is curently building the Power of Siberia 2 pipelines to send more gas to China.
