You know the UK said something very Similar about a strip of land in north America as well as Ireland and we all know where that went. You push people around long enough eventually they will push back. Hell I only need a book on Chinese history to prove that since every few centuries some idiot in power ends up learning that historical lesson himself. Don't believe me? Well ever heard of Romance of the Three kingdoms? That's just one example. The warring states period is another. I can keep going. Anybody who thinks HK belongs to China and by virtue of that fact China is free to do whatever the hell it wants well I am sorry but that might as well be an admission to being an idiot that doesn't even know his own history. If you still don't believe me ok I will give you a fair chance find me one example in history where some jerk off ruler took his power and position too far and the people didn't fight back because of it? If you can't find one then you don't have an excuse to write that off.

@maggiechannel88 realistically apartments don't work that way. It's not about right or wrong due to the fact each tenants rights are equal to each other. In other words your analogy is not only flawed it's not even realistic. What would make it realistic though is suppose the landlord wanted to give a tenant the boot simply because he was black, or maybe it he had a religion like Christianity now the tenant is fully within his rights to fight back. In fact most countries in the west have laws which make such actions illegal that are referred to as civil rights laws. These are laws which guarentee equal protections under the law gives such a tenant the right to even file lawsuit against the landlord. This is fair because he is being removed for what the law refers to as injuries by the landlord. An injury in the legal definition would be any action which either does physical, financial, emotional, or psychological harm. So in this corrected analogy HK not only has the right to contest a government decision it also has the responsibility to act and take appropriate steps to alter or abolish such decisions and that is right.

You're probably not that far off. Even history has plenty of examples of how " crossing the line " never resolves anything. Boston Massacre, bloody easter, etc. All were actions thought would solve the problem and the bonehead in charge learned the hard way that all he really did was turn a simple problem into a quagmire.

Funny how you call them cockroaches when everyone knows how hard they are to kill. Case in point it's been 3 months and surprise surprise they don't seem to be quitting anytime soon and the CCP seems to have tried everything except send in the troops which we all know they are never going to do because of the media attention this has drawn. And let's be honest the last Time troops were being shown firing into a crowd on every news network in existence it didn't end very well. And China knows that hence why they are not sending the army.
