Depends what you mean by real. That's just based on a study on 4000 years of Chinese history. If you mean the actual Chinese state well that's just a small province that spread out under Shi Huang Ti. Making everything within his empire just occupied territory. In truth I Don't think there is such a thing because they have never remained unified under anyone. The closest they ever came to stability was under the Ming Dynasty and that lasted only 300 years. There whole history is just this continuous cycle of unification, a honeymoon phase where there is stability until some idiot comes to power who somehow does something to piss off his own people then it goes into a period of expansion or attempted expansion until the people have had enough where it breaks apart until the cycle starts again. You don't have to take my word for it pick a province at random and read its history and see for yourself even the author of Romance of the Three Kingdoms summarized Chinese History as " Empires wax and wane and States tear asunder and coalesce." And that was written in the 2nd century. See why i said I don't think there is such a thing as the real China.

@Soon Kwek i actually lived in Thailand for 6 years and rotated my time between Philippines, Laos, Singapore and China and by my observation people are generally happier and have a much better soul compared to China. So be more concerned for yourself and less concerned of others. @sealion6444 I am sure you are right in this same context so don't think I am calling you anything, please don't misunderstand, but I think he means China as it was intended to be where it would have gone if the CCP never took over, or if it took a completely different direction, China was an empire after all, became like Europe after the fall of the Roman Empire a series of former occupied kingdoms and principalities that reclaimed the right to self-rule. Something that I think would be better for modern China. Just the different states going their separate ways maybe even becoming something greater than China ever was. Granted that maybe wishful thinking but considering the fact all empires break apart eventually I am probably not that far off.

@eduardochavacano and yet the difference is so obvious you have no excuse for ignoring it. In China people can't fight back or they get their skulls kicked in and are thrown into concentration camps where the guards can pretty much do whatever they want to them. In the west however people fight back and if the government retaliates the people fight even harder and more committed. And unlike what left wing groups used a year ago these people show resistance through non-violent means no matter how much leftists try to provoke violence. In fact westerners demonstrated they stand a better chance of using the law to it's full intended effect this way and the left is in retreat as a result because they now have no idea what to do. That's the difference between a country that has a soul and is willing to fight for it and a country whose soul has been robbed. For China to change it would take a fight on par with the American Revolution. All westerners need to do show we do not support this, whatever it may be, is to simply say no, or honk a horn, block a road, you know pick your non-violent method.

See I am history geek and here is what you conveniently left out about the conquest of the Native Americans, btw I happen to be descended of native Americans but moving on. See you are referring to manifest destiny and the Indian removal act which unfortunately for you involves a Cold civil War between pro liberal, pro slave and pro conquest democrats started by Andrew Jackson why do I word it this way because their opponents, the republicans, from the very beginning starting with Thomas Jefferson were the exact opposite and were against the conquest and forcible removal of native Americans. If this were not true then there would not be anything like the words of men like congressman David Crockett who spoke out against the democrat party’s policies towards native Americans. Point being to say USA conquered anyone as if we were unanimous in the decision, when in the halls of government there was a fight between those who believed in the ideals of the revolutionary war and the resulting constitution and those who opposed those ideals, might as well be an admission you have no idea about anything. And that’s just one example of something not so black and white. China cannot say the same not by a long shot since every ruler practiced state terror and absolute authority. You are not being ridiculed you are being tried in the court of public opinion and found guilty of crimes against humanity. The only regret of this court is I can’t sentence you. Which is a pity but that doesn’t mean a day won’t come when it all comes back to haunt you. When that will be? Who knows. By whom knowing your country’s history I would say the traditional answer would be your own people since that seems to be the inescapable cycle. You get unified by some charismatic leader, you have your honeymoon period, then either that same ruler or some idiot that takes his place and probably should never be given power to begin with but he starts passing laws and creating policies that just pisses off your own people until they have had enough and your country cracks to pieces like an egg until somebody else takes over and the whole thing starts again. And given what the idiots in your government have done in the past decade alone I would say your people are at their limit including those people I mentioned earlier who were conquered.

Even people who 1/10th of their people can show greater honor than someone who is full blooded.” And your whole statement about china being for Chinese? Which Chinese though? Because many of them are conquered peoples and your country has a total of at least 15 completely different ethnic groups. So saying china is for Chinese is like saying America is for Britains.

I think another area of frustration for the CCP in its undermining of the US is whats called the Madison doctrine. Formulated by one of our presidents and architect of the US Constitution. The predicament James Madison argued was for a democracy but he knew from social experiments by Rome and Greece in Democracy that there were two extremes which had to be avoided. One was of course tyranny or authoritarianism the other was mob rule. He didn't propose a middle ground but rather a balance between the central government and citizens democratic rights this is why our government is set up the way it is with 2 bodies of legislation a seperate judicial system and an executive branch. That was part of the Madison doctrine another crucial part to create that stable balance and what Madison thought was important was the rights of the states to have autonomy. The federal government passes laws but a lot of times they are done in a way so that states can take these laws and decide how best to implement them. As long as the implementation does not conflict with the greater constitution then there are no problems. Now if you are a 50 cent goon you are probably wondering " ok I get that" maybe even " that's we are undermining so why is this such a problem" Remember in the previous post where I said the citizenry can say no well that ability is built into the Madison doctrine namely the first amendment. The first amendment makes the other amendments possible because it allows the citizenry to challenge the constitutionality of a particular government law or policy. That's why Brandon couldn't pass his mask mandates or any of his laws even with the support of the legislative branch and remember what I said about States having autonomy? That means they too can challenge the central government. So in a way you do have a revolution or civil war of sorts but it's just one where the Madison doctrine shows it's true ability for the people rather then for the government. That's why your people in Washington can say they are going to rewrite government as many times as they want the Madison doctrine makes that impossible and that was done deliberately to prevent the government from assuming the kind of authority the CCP values. In a sense the constitution is our Great Wall in the sense it protects our constitutional rights and prevents your meddling and undermining.

That explains the frustration with their setbacks in undermining the US. They kept thinking of strong nations in this 2 dimensional dynamic where a country's economic ability matters over personal freedoms but in western democracies people are in fact willing to die for their freedoms even if the economy is to be sacriced. In a way that makes countries like the US alot more dangerous for the CCP then they originally thought because we have the political ability to say no and that's the end of it and if the government objects then the citizenry has the constitutional right to do what it must, short of violent uprising of course which probably baffles the CCP even more. Somehow I think they wanted something on par with a full blown revolution or civil war in the US and can't figure out why when you look at the bigger picture that isn't happening. There is resistance to the left due to the provocation but it's not at all violent which is exposing, quite successfully, the hypocrisy of the left. Kinda like asking average Joe shmuckatelly to grow a garden when he knows nothing about gardening and surprise surprise every plant he touches ends up dead.

So according to you culture and living by virtue is worthless? So then why is it the United States, whom at that very time you were talking about, not only fought back but actually beat the Japanese? Not only beat them but also showed mercy after they had surrendered, after all they had already surrendered so what point was there in punishing them further when they already realized their foolishness, they had retained their own traditions and self-respect. See to you they are superstitions which show weakness and stupidity, but it doesn't change the fact that it brings out those virtues which all people recognize. That Thomas Aquinas calls the 4 cardinal virtues of Justice, Fortitude, Prudence, and Temperance. Or as CS Lewis writes it, Straight Dealing, Love of Kindred, Pity, and Shame. Doesn't strike you as odd that regardless of ideology, religion, and as you put it superstition everyone without exception recognizes Justice? And everyone in that war fought based on this one virtue. So, if superstitions bring about weakness and stupidity then explain this phenomenon that is most associated with religion? Why, is it that according to you the whole world shouldn't have cared what Japan was doing but based on what you call superstitions they acted in the name of Justice following a tradition going back to the Old Testament that is based on this one virtue? Perhaps you want to see it as weakness because it makes it easy to attack the virtuous and the traditional but regardless if it wasn't for these specific traditions that every culture recognizes the Chinese People would most likely be extinct you included.

Really, so I am supposed to ignore the fact that according to traditional Chinese philosophy, yes I have read Confucius and also Mencius, they actually go hand in hand. Some scholars of Confucius actually cite that a person is held in contempt for failing to uphold cardinal moral values. So say what you want but Chinese philosophy itself even disagrees with you. Of course, I would expect a 50 cent goon, threatened by a Chinese person rocking the boat, would conveniently forget that fact and try to make a futile effort at passing BS off as truth. To Lei, I know you have a rule about being civil and respectful and I understand it but I have no respect for bullies especially jerks like this one who clearly work for the enemy.

@MarkMark-xz4ff not only that China has a repeated history that whenever a ruler comes to power that goes too far the Chinese have risen up to fight them and bring down that regime. Romance of the Kingdoms describes one example of this. So I would say he has it backwards the Chinese people have that same spirit that inspired the founding fathers to act. It's not a Chinese spirit because China is just a series of conquered kingdoms with the CCP being their current occupiers. So, I think it's fair to say that it is that same Spirit Americans have when we see injustice from when our rights have been violated. It is this spirit that needs to be restored in the Chinese people.

@Twodime4032 I know that at one time it was it’s own country and a very proud people before they were conquered subjugated and enslaved. And in the 2nd century it became it’s own kingdom under a ruler who I think was more noble then anyone in Beijing. Lui yuan te and your countries name of Shu was much more fitting because it was your own. @Twodime4032 you are correct he did fail but he is still celebrated in western culture we have many heroes who met similar fates but were still highly respected because of what they represented such as Julius Caesar, Ragnar Lothbrook, William Wallace, David Crockett. What did they all have in common with Lui yuan te? They died for what they stood for. In that sense they are not losers but winners. The very fact Romance of the 3 kingdoms is still read today serves as proof of this fact. But that’s why your ccp masters hate it so much because he represents the virtues they thought china was better without and as it turns out the Chinese people beg to disagree. Not that much different from when I read about my Viking, Native American or Wu Chinese ancestors. Yes I am Chinese descent it turns out but then again I am so ethnically mixed that technically speaking I don’t really have a race. But that’s beside the point. What failed for China which led to WW2 had nothing to do with traditions, that's what communism raped your mind into believing. This is clear by virtue of the fact you clearly ignored the fact China still exists because the US answered in the name of Justice. I assume because that is an inconvenient truth you prefer to avoid but avoiding it doesn't make it less true. Speaking of tribal societies are you aware that tribal socieities like the Navajo, and the Cherokee actually fought in the name of Justice as well? So then explain the Tokyo trials that did result in Japanese officers and ministers getting hung? Yeah that did happen. Even in the west their is a reason why we rely courts to decide the fate of the Guilty and as far as our understanding of Justice is concerned Japan served it's sentence. Why? Because the laborer is reaping whatever he puts in. If he puts in everything he gets everything he puts in nothing he gets nothing. Communist systems want to be the entrepreneur not the laborer. Proof of this? Who is it that lives in the big houses, rides in limos, enjoys the high class status and so on? It certainly isn't the laborer. In fact the Chinese laborers biggest complaint is being overworked with barely enough pay to get by in China's current economy. And how many have actually been credited for some discovery, or innovation, or even making better a particular craft that isn't a party member? I sure as heck can't find 1 and why would they when there is no incentive for them to do so. They are just happy to have a job and a roof over their heads. Who is reaping the fruits of their labor? The State is. According to Abraham Lincoln who fought a war to end slavery and passed the 13th amendment to abolish slavery that is the very definition of slavery. Is Capitalism perfect? Of course not but then again no manmade thing ever is but compared to communism and fascism it gives the best incentive for ones labor.

Every pro slave or segregation policy you can possibly look up I will guarantee you will find out they were Democrat and that the Republican party was against it for a multitude of reasons ethics being one of them. Abraham Lincoln was a Republican. It wasn't only slavery the issue of the Native Tribes was divided similarly. Both sides agreed that the Native Tribes couldn't survive as they presently were but disagreed radically on how to handle them this was the real origin of manifest destiny. To make a long story short anytime you want to point the sins of the United States you have to literally look at as a state in what could best be described as a Cold Civil War that continues even today between progressive Democrats and the Republicans. With that being said if you want to point out a wrong of the US then you need to specifically look at who passed that particular policy or order. If it was immoral even by your own standards then chances are it was passed by a Democrat.

Which seems to happen consistently whenever a leader who should never have been given power to begin with takes charge and yes that does imply it has happened numerous times before. This isn't the first time authoritarianism went too far in China. I would like to say it would be the last time but that is never how this cycle goes. Ultimately what has to happen is lessons have to happen and steps have to be taken to prevent a future Mao, let’s say, from taking over. Is that going to happen? I don't know only time will tell.

I am Christian which means I believe God answers with signs and wonders but I also believe he doesn’t necessarily have to use Christian’s to send such signs, he can but if you carefully examine scripture sometimes prophets from other religions were used depending on who he was talking to and why. As a westerner and a student of criminal justice i think the Chinese custom of bride gifts has to be handled cautiously because our countries do have marriage fraud laws and monetary gain is a red flag in these laws. This isn't to discourage the custom neither to court a westerner but rather Chinese people courting westerners should be flexible with the custom and making certain the westerner understands the custom before expecting anything.
