I am asking this mostly out of curiosity but I have noticed that self aware patients of certain disorders like NPD or Psychopathy have been a big help in better understanding people who share that same disorder such as Dr. David Wood who is a church pastor and a self aware Psychopath I always find his insights into how he struggles with empathy very interesting. With that said my question is this has an incarcerated serial killer ever actually helped law enforcement with tracking down serial killers? Or is that just Hollywood when they show Hannibal Lector helping Starling with finding Buffalo Bill? And of course I mean that in the same context as the self aware mental disorder patients I mentioned at the beginning.
