Lack of social skills within overall normal functioning should not receive a diagnosis but a social disapproval prompting the parents of every socially unskilled child to work on social skills more. Nice excuse for every parent who did not do the job of raising socially competent person out of their baby: diagnosis for the big baby.

@ if you are so knowledgeable, have you brought up a kid who CAN speak? To be able to decode the word, the child must have the enviroment where decoding this word is vitally important. For example, if a cookie will be given ONLY if the word is decoded. If the cookie is given anyway, there is no motivation to know the word.

They throw tantrums about things they did not like for the single reason: because their parents allow them to. We all have things we do not like. However, good parenting is about training the child to react to whatever they dislike, within social norms.

@ledacedar6253 The whole issue is that these are kids in families where no restrictions or discipline would be applied to a kid. They are allowed to eat what they want, do what they want, stim as they want, disturb others as they want, throw tantrums as they please. They would not even be forced to sit still for a hair-dresser. This is all because their mothers are scared to upset their treasure. So, by definition, no diet can be sustained in such a household, as if the treasure demands candy, candy will be given.

This means insufficient guidance on behaviour from the mother. The child is not allowed (NORMALLY!!!!) to move things without permission. Should NOT be allowed.

@gg_ingy If you do not teach the child that he has no right to a particular object, the child will have to end up autistic, as he will be totally afraid of the outside environment where he is not the boss and cannot pick and choose things., timings , activities and communication. Any unhealthy routines should be immediately broken by the loving mother: no chance to put toys in lines (never give more than two objects available for play, unless the child uses them in a constructive healthy way), any rigid (so unhealthy) preferences must be NOT satisfied, and the child should be firmly steered towards normal behaviour. The best explanation is given by Jordan Peterson in his videos about parenting. By age 4, the child must be trained to be likeable and a joy to be around. This is the parents' job. Failing this job, the developmental pathological pathway is ensured. It is not yet too late for you. Remember, all the behaviour of any 3 y old is exactly what the parents allowed and affirmed. Take every behaviour that you think is abnormal (you call it autistic symptom) and weed it out in accordance with Pavlov law.

Someone who is well functioning enough to have a job that is about communicating with people, finding their problems and treating these for their well being, should not ever be diagnosed. It is a social religious construct of subjective nature. Peterson knows that but keeps quiet not to get cancelled.

It is a social invention not a real diagnosis, because it simply compares behaviour to what a particular set of middle class white people consider a norm, and those people and this society issues the verdict: disordered. So, anyone brandishing their autism as a "difference", needs to be reminded that this is not simply a difference but a disorder in the eyes of the current society. One needs to choose: have your cake or eat it. Cannot have both. Either their diagnosis is a sham, or they are psychiatrically disordered people whose opinions matter less.

@noob19087 Obedient child is the happiest child, they are happy with what they have, they will be a fully functional adult. When someone has a spending spree on a credit card, they are happy. However, they will pay dear for that false happiness later. Same with childhood. Childhood is a hardworking time, learning time, time to acquire what is necessary for happy adult life. Kids who have been kept "happy" by their permissive parents, pay for the rest of their lives. The peiod of two weeks - six month of instilling total obedience will not be technically happy, same as goign to a dentist. However, later the new skills of obedience will allow the kid to be tolerated by stranger adults who determine the child's future.

@russianbot4418 The vast majority of parents get this exactly right, and so their kids grow up free of diagnoses. Those parents who cannot get the balance, they seek ASD diagnosis for their either gravely spoilt or hopelessly suppressed kids. The mistakes of parents are not taken into any account when diagnosing the object of wrong actions.

@galenschultz3239 Arguing with Pavlov law is silly. The vast majority of parents manage to train social skills in their kids as to prevent any psychiatric diagnoses. The failed ones go and seek diagnosis. The rules are very simple: to follow hierarchy, to obey adults who have been entrusted the responsibility to care the child, to not take others' things without permission etc. Very simple rules. When the skill of obeying those rules is not parented into the kid, ASD follows.

@johnhpalmer6098 Autism is an invention, bad parenting seems to not exist any more, it is a taboo. If achild just draws differently, nobody will diagnose. It takes a mother who is unable to instil certain proper behaviours,, and in frustration that mother goes to diagnose her kid.
