All kids are different, so the mother must make different effort to ensure that each and every one of he kids gets to the good social skills level. She must not accept the child who is antisocial. However, modern psychologists (not Jordan, he is an exception) teach to accept a child whatever and however he is. This is wrong! The mother;s job is to mould a person, and the only way to do it is to withdraw love for antisocial behaviour (still loving, but this should be unknown to the child!) showering love for good behaviour. It is a tough job, to reject your child for 20 min is not a nice task, but sometimes a useful one.

This is only done by reinforcing desirable behaviour and punishing undesirable. There is no other way to do it. A parent simply must create conditions in which antisocial behaviour cannot take place. Example: instead of giving earplugs for tantrums in noisy environment, placing inti such environment for long, without ear plugs, and wait until being there becomes ok for the child, several hours if required. I actually live in a real world and I brought up three lovely people, who did you bring up?

@naisyjohns Not "so". Autism is simply a name for lack of social skills, so it does not explain anything. You don't have social skills untill you get trained. @frequentlycynical642 Most parents have those skills. Look at any playground, find the nicest kids, come up to their parents and ask them how they did it. Not tolerating yucky behaviour from your child is all that is needed. NEVER tolerate from your son anything his girlfriend would not tolerate.

Perfectly put. This all starts with the mother telling her boy "you deserve everything" and trying to make him always happy and always with high self esteem, irrespectively of how poor his actual performance/achievements/behaviour is. I hope, when people invite you for a birthday party, you do not offer to pay your share for air balloons and sausages? @thijsjong I hope you know that puppies are far more sensitive to sound and light than human babies. Read on what dog trainers advise to owners, how to desensitize their puppy. Sensible parents do exactly the same. No all parents follow through , not all know what to do, hence "sensory issues" - the non-trained puppy syndrome. Say thanks to your mummy, you are as you are because she inflated by training, by cherishing, and raised to grow all bad features in her kid.

@cloisonnegreen How old are they? I don;t think something went much wrong. Why would someone have a greatest self-confidence? Self confidence should match achievements. First of all, your job was huge, 4 kids is a wow for a mother, so already well done, even if the result is less than perfect. You gave four lives, at the end of the day.

@Gokiburi777 We just celebrated our 28 year wedding anniversary with my husband. Our kids have been very successful and happy at a dating market, finding great partners. the deep underlying reason is LAZINESS, and eveyrone knows that. People do not do anything unless they either 1) interested and are looking forward to something 2) must. If your mum created for you a situation when your room is not clean but you are still fed and homed, you have a problem. It is so easy and simple and doesn't require explanation.

@harryhoudini714 Lol, first of all you don't know whether I am a psychologist. You have a three storey tower of defences to explain yoyr laziness buddy. First of all, why do you think that psychologists own common sense? They don't. This is a self-proclaimed profession, the only profession where the result is not a measure of success. Jodran just happens to be a talented person and a good parent, who can apply whatever knowledge he received in his useless profession to put it at good cause. But psychologists' bread abd butter depends on soothing losers for money. When a lazy loser comes and pays mummy's money, a psychologist will not shoot themselves in the foot and say "just lazy", they will say whatever will keep the lozer clients soothed and coming back. Laziness existed and exists and will exist and it is a human nature, we won't do anything boring or hard unless we have to, same with cats, bears, tigers. When a child is brought up being valued for being useless, being coddled and defended against common sense by mummy, a growing male will have developed laziness as an intrinsic feature of character. Show me a psychologist who brought up two or more good productive people (OK Jordan brought up two and he says the right thing all the time)m as I brought up three. The proof is in the pudding, a person is an expert if he/she can bring up a winner not a loser. A cook who never baked a cake but spent 5 years reading books about cooking, is no cooking expert. No, playing computer games for three days is not comparable to any competition, because it is safe, profects self esteem, not dangerous, easy (all computer games are designed to be mastered by an average << intelligence chap, I taught computer games creators as a pro!), does not require physical strength and exersion of muscle force, has undo and escape... When even an average Czerny etude on a piano takes real effort but also ONLY doable by no more that 1 out of a hundred!
