In your story, there is one key phrase that contains the explanation of what is going pn: "throws tantrum UNTIL I HOLD him", so it is clear that bad behaviour is rewarded in your home. How do you reward him? For each particulatkyling and insistent tantrum you hold him. It is in his interest to keep tantruming. You need to radically change your ways. When he throws a tantrum, he needs to immediately get something unpleasant ( such as a glass of water poured over his head, or being pulled into a utility rom and left there for 5 minutes). And from today, if he started his tantrum, it should mean for you that NO WAY would you hold him, satisfy his wish, or do anything pleasant for him until he stops and demonstrates respectful behaviour for the next several hours.
