  4. The problem for Putin is that he can’t retire — as that would greatly effect his life expectancy. Putin is afraid that next Russian 'Tsar' (president) will expose Putin’s corruption and will make an example out of him.

  5. 🛢 Putin invaded Ukraine in order to prevent it from selling natural gas and oil to Europe, which would severely limit his leverage over the European region. (In 2012 there was a major new gas and oil discovery in Crimea, as well as the eastern portion of Ukraine.)
