Musk promised fully autonomous vehicles "coming next year" since 2016. Meditate on that.

👍 You’re absolutely right. Good on you for paying attention. I find it ironic that Jim Cramer, right away, mentioned a straw man argument — then he proceeded with manufacturing his very own — straw man argument — in order to accuse Warren Buffett of attacking a straw man. (It seems Jim Cramer may have engaged in psychological 'projection' when he accused Warren Buffett of attacking a straw man.) In case someone is not familiar, here’s a definition of straw man: A straw man (sometimes written as strawman) is a form of argument and an informal fallacy of having the impression of refuting an argument, whereas the real subject of the argument was not addressed or refuted, but instead replaced with a false one. One who engages in this fallacy is said to be "attacking a straw man". see source for more: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Straw_man + psychological projection: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psychological_projection

#Narcissism ⚠️ In 2020, the year the taxicab video went viral, Michael Platt’s hedge fund had bigger problems than just boasting: "BlueCrest agreed to pay $170 million to former clients to settle a U.S. regulator’s allegations that it effectively placed its own profits ahead of its customers." — as per Bloomberg article.

👍 Minority Voice ▶️ 1:53 ➡️ 🍎 Here’s more information about Apple as a consumer company and what makes it very different from IBM: What Clayton Christensen Got Wrong https://stratechery.com/2013/clayton-christensen-got-wrong/ ⬆️ If you read the above article — you will understand just how different $IBM and $AAPL are. One major difference is that Apple primarily sells to consumers (people who actually use the product they purchase) rather than to other businesses (who force their employees to use whatever the company buys for them). If this seems interesting — read the above article — Ben Thompson will provide you with much more insight than me. • Ben Thompson, his "Stratechery" blog, and his "exponent" podcast are amazing. • If you are interested in Apple as an investment, I encourage you to listen to "Above Avalon" podcast as well. • ...In general, Clayton Christensen gets a lot of things right. I highly recommend his books: "Innovator’s Dilemma" and "Innovator’s Solution". (...BTW, he died recently, on January 23, 2020. He was a great teacher and an incredible human.)

🥇 Subjectively purporting yourself to be #1 is bragging. (An objective measure of Platt’s current affluence does not support his claim of being #1.)

📊 "Just as the established companies systematically underestimate how big [the] disruptive companies will become — Wall Street’s methods of financial analysis systematically undervalue disruptive companies and how big they will become — and so it’s disruptive companies that are the ones that keep surprising the market on the upside: oh my gosh there’s even more growth here than we thought." — Clayton Christensen see the rest here: 📺 https://youtu.be/Bas2Dw4lcfM (3 minute video | April 23, 2012)

It does seem ridiculous how many of the same comments come up again and again, just slightly varied wording.

@coolcool6908 …There’s more context to this story: Sometimes, Michael Platt’s talents includes being less than honest: ⚠️ In 2020, the year the taxicab video went viral, Michael Platt’s hedge fund had bigger problems than just boasting: "BlueCrest agreed to pay $170 million to former clients to settle a U.S. regulator’s allegations that it effectively placed its own profits ahead of its customers." — as per Bloomberg article. #Narcissism

@sansin6250 You’re missing personal data advantage that Apple has due to their focus on privacy rather than selling ads. The technologies at other companies don’t have access to the personal information about an iPhone user like Apple does — making Apple Intelligence more useful to the individual as compared to the generic commodity AI that has little to no information about the end user.
